GPAC MP4Box base_scenegraph.c gf_node_unregister use after free

A vulnerability was detected in GPAC up to f1219cde. This vulnerability affects the function gf_node_unregister of the file scenegraph/base_scenegraph.c of the component MP4Box. The manipulation results in use after free. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. Upgrading to version abi-16.23 is able to resolve this issue. CWE-119 Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer

The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it reads from or writes to a memory location outside the buffer's intended boundary. This may result in read or write operations on unexpected memory locations that could be linked to other variables, data structures, or internal program data.

CWE-416 Use After Free

The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory "belongs" to the code that operates on the new pointer.
