LoginSTVS ProVision 5.9.10 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers to access arbitrary files by manipulating the files parameter in the archive download functionality. Attackers can send GET requests to /archive/download with directory traversal sequences to read sensitive system files like /etc/passwd.

The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
